You will be met by a friendly professional driver and he will drive you out of Siem Reap approximately 25 km to the typical Khmer village of Kampong Phluk. If you wish, it will stop at a local village market and you can walk around the various stalls where they trade, see how the local market is going.

You take a wooden boat to the village where you will enjoy a glimpse of daily life in Cambodia, discover an amazing and different way of life in the largest freshwater Tonle Sap lake in South Asia. This is the reality of Cambodian fishing village life living in the middle of nowhere during the monsoon. There are approximately 650 ethnic Khmer families who have fished and farmed the area for generations. You get a fascinating insight into local life as you explore the stilt houses which in the dry season are 7m high, but in the rainy season they are only about 1 meter above water level. Navigating through the flooded mangrove forest is an amazing thing about this village and it is definitely one of the aspects of traveling in Cambodia. Kampong Phluk is one of the must-see floating villages. The whole trip takes about 4 hours.
